Dave Donofrio

Dave Donofrio is a real estate planner and developer in Lancaster County Virginia. Having lived in the area for 40 years while raising 3 children with his wife, he is committed to preserving the unique character and charm of the region while seeking the best avenues for beneficial growth and development.

He is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a Degree in Landscape Design and Horticulture. He began his career in golf course construction and management at the Golden Eagle Golf Course, which is part of The Tides Inn Resort. Later, moving to real estate development with the Bay Company, he was involved in construction, development and sales of Mallard Bay, a planned development in Northumberland County, Virginia. Associated with Delmarva Properties, Inc., as a real estate broker and consultant for its properties, Donofrio was responsible for two premier Northern Neck communities, Eagle’s Landing and Harbor Pointe.

Donofrio is the creator of the King Carter Golf Course and the Hills Quarter residential community in Irvington. This accomplishment is a result of vision, detailed planning and creative execution. From the acquisition of the land parcels, selection of the design group, hiring the course construction firm, consulting on the building designs, assembling the management team and simply naming the course to tie it to Virginia’s strong sense of history, Donofrio has demonstrated great determination and clever ingenuity. As a testament to David Donofrio’s planning and development expertise, in 2006 the King Carter Golf Course was named “Best Affordable Public Course in America” by Golf Digest.

Most recently, Donofrio secured 740 acres± for a master planned community for the twenty-first century. Created with an environmental focus, King’s Grant will encompass an arboretum with a botanical garden experience, educational venues, a connected trail system and homes developed with energy savings and sustainability in mind. Under Donofrio’s direction, King’s Grant has been planned by a qualified team of land planners and design experts. The potential for economic development is immense. With planning and design in place, the time is right to begin development of this nature-oriented community.
